Ym mis Hydref, gwahoddwyd mwy na 180 o blant o dair ysgol gynradd mewn ardal Blaenafon i wario’r diwrnod yn Techniquest — diolch i rodd hael gan GOS Engineering.
Darparodd y cwmni o Flaenafon — sy’n wneuthurwr blaenllaw cerbydau rheilffordd — £1,000 yr un i Ysgol Gynradd Coed y Garn, Ysgol Gynradd Penygarn ac Ysgol Blaenavon Heritage i dalu costau teithio a mynediad am ddiwrnod ar ein safle.
Mwynhaodd y plant dwy lawr o arddangosfeydd rhyngweithiol, cawsant ddysgu popeth am STEM gan ein staff llawr, a chawsant eu cludo hyd yn oed i alaethau pell ar ein Star Tours, a’i gynhaliwyd yn ein Planetariwm 360°.
Dywedodd rheolwr-gyfarwyddwr GOS Engineering, Neil Gregory, a ariannodd y prosiect yn garedig: “At GOS, we are committed to helping introduce science and technology into schools and delighted to work with Techniquest in delivering their programmes — hopefully to inspire some of the engineers of tomorrow.”
Ac yn ystod eu hymweliad, cawsom glywed gan Lesley Holland, un o’r athrawon yn Ysgol Blaenavon Heritage, am yr hyn yr oedd y cyfle hwn yn ei olygu i’w myfyrwyr.
Dwedodd hi: “It’s gone towards providing an unforgettable experience for the children that may never have happened without the donation.
“They’ve loved the Bernoulli blower and the low light area in particular!”
Wedi’i leoli mewn ardaloedd o amddifadedd gyda chanrannau uchel o brydau ysgol am ddim, rhoddodd cefnogaeth y cwmni gweithgynhyrchu brofiad gwerthfawr o ddysgu y tu allan i’r dosbarth i’r disgyblion.
Dwedodd Lesley Kirkpatrick, Prif Swyddog Gweithredol o Techniquest: “We know how challenging it can be for schools to find funds for learning outside the classroom these days and without this generous donation from GOS Tool & Engineering Services, these children may never have been able to spend time exploring the world of science at Techniquest.
“We are incredibly grateful to Neil for his generous support.”
Dwedodd Karen Harris, Cadeirydd Bwrdd yr Ymddiriedolwyr y ganolfan darganfod gwyddoniaeth: “We’re so grateful to GOS Engineering for enabling these pupils to experience all that Techniquest has to offer — and from the feedback we’ve received from the schools involved, it’s clear that they enjoyed themselves as much as we enjoyed hosting them.”
Hoffem unwaith eto ddiolch o galon i Neil Gregory a gweddill GOS Engineering, a’r holl staff addysgu a helpodd i ddarparu diwrnod bythgofiadwy i’r disgyblion yma yn Techniquest.
